Rest as resistence
Changing systems is a lifelong commitment, where protests, difficult conversations, and direct actions must be complemented with deep self-inquiry, rest, and joy. In this continuous fight for liberation, each of these parts play a crucial role in sustaining our collective effort to resist systems of oppression and build a world we actually can live in.
My approach is rooted in systems thinking, where we name the barriers to our healing, awareness, and full potential. We integrate the surrounding environment – whether it be the changes of the seasons, the currents of social movements, or the nuances of interpersonal dynamics – into our space, adapting the practice accordingly.
It is also through this approach I wish to redefine self-reflection, rest, and joy, pivoting away from the individualistic focus on well-being towards divestment from oppressive systems.
It is through each deliberate breath, moment of rest, and belly laugh that we resist.
